well just for the record, none of my lifters have fallen/broken out yet, and Ive got 16 of the little buggers  but if your not carefull you will suffer danger to manifold and your floor will fall out from too much coolant in your overflow bottle

UPDATE

Engine is out, new one is waiting to go in.

Each and every cylinder had a monage toi (two valves and piston) not one survived.

Auxillary sprocket appear to be the cause of the troubel when it decided out was better than in. It sheared off it's mount, taking with it engine timing, resulting in valve-piston loving and general loss of power. On it's way out it lost some teeth, took the head off a bolt, and put some holes in the timing case cover.

Pics of Damage (more at this link: http://fordmods.datamine.tk/gallery.asp?gallery=/Engine%20Fu%63ked):

Image
Valve marks on pistons.

Image
hydrualic lifters don't belong in oil galleries.

Image
Flat top valves, they're supposed to be closed too.

Image
Timing case cover, lots of damage and air con.

Image
Washer doesn't belong there, after a run between the chain and a gear. It DOES belong on the auxillary sprocket.

Image
Auxillary sprocket, spot the poor dentistry.

Newy to go in:

concorde did some disassembly on my old head today. Got 4 exhaust valves out.

For those wanting confirmation. hybrid head = 7mm valve stems, and 47mm exhaust valves.
