Yep!! its the TFI module on the side of the dissy.

An easy fix but when i did mine about 4-5 years ago i found that from repco (from memory) the tfi was like $100 and a complete new dissy was $180, so i just bought the dissy, it comes complete and will save having to replace the rotor button and cap and so on.

If the injectors are firing it will just be the coil, but if not getting injector pulse or spark, then definitely TFI module.
You can test for injector pulse with an LED, un-clip the plug from an injector, place the LED in and crank the engine, if it blinks, its working.

As mentioned above, best to buy complete new dizzy as sometimes the hall sensor can be buggered too and will ruin the next TFI you put on.

I recently bought a complete Bosch dizzy from a ford dealership that is selling on ebay for $160. Search for distrbutor (missing the 'I') to find it.

has anyone had simular problem like this and it wasnt the coil or the dizzy??

The TFI modules can die like that, where they will work then stop... work then stop...etc
This is the problem I had recently, it would start and run for on average about 15sec's then die.

Change the TFI module mate!

Alternatively go to the wreckers and get another dizzy, but the condition could be questionable...

I know aye

Mate you asked for advice, and we gave it, you could put money on the fact that almost everyone on here who has had a dissy e-series has had one go, if not they will!

Trust us if there's not spark and she just died suddenly, its the tfi.

I wouldn't go second hand unless you can pick one up really cheap.

My El would just die and if you waited 5 or 10 minutes away it went again as if nothing was wrong for 10 or 20 km.
I replaced the dizzy and coil $480 but its sweet as now.
