When I turn my EL falcon on everything is fine however when I first put my foot on the accelerator in drive my car shudders. By that I mean it hesitates, when my car starts it only happens for about the first minute or 2 when I stop and go. I put my foot on the accelerator and it doesn't rev for around 1-2 seconds and then it will start going fine, it feels as if it is going to stall like that on a manual... but it's an auto.

Anyone have any idea why it does this?

Thanks, Zane.

I'm generous with how far my foot goes down but the revs don't move for a second or 2, it used to do this just not as bad, it has recently got worse.

Stretched or binding accelerator cable? Mixed with a dirty ISC / TB.
Or could be you're TP switch playing up.
Or it could be a leaking headgasket. water into pots overnight.

Dying coil, dying TFI module, bad injectors, severely blocked fuel filter?

As far as I know it is fine, I will try it out in the morning in park and neutral.

As for the other answers, guys I have little car knowledge :/

Seriously if you can grab a gregorys manual and read up on the stuff other members have said you will have the details and descriptions of the parts in front of you. It could be one of a million things and if you run through the order of checks and resolve the problem yourself you will save a crap load in labor costs.
The book will pay for itself tenfold. If you have one read up about the parts mentioned in the manual and search on here. Guaranteed someone has had the same problem as you have or similar and you will find detailed advise on cleaning or replacing parts, not to mention checks if your handy with a multimeter and photo's.

So now you have identified its only in drive that should narrow the search for you dude. The blokes on here know s**t loads more than me with the El's and will probably know the cause or the best places to look. Is it the same if you put it in 1st or reverse?

Try it in the morning because if you can identify exactly when it does it and only when it does it you will have set yourself on the path to finding the problem. Power of elimination is king

I've had this with my car for ages, std engine, worked engine, and std engine with blower. I've just learned to live with it, but I'd love to get it sorted.

It's like a light switch. It coughs and splutters for a bit, then gets its act together and takes off.
Once it's warm it generally stops, or you just can't feel it as much.
There are no codes for it.

I found that if I disconnected the oxygen sensor that it stopped doing it.
I have replaced the O2 sensor with no change.
I have replaced the TPS with no change.

I generally find after an ECU reset it is better for a few days, then gets back in to the habit.

I have no ISC connected with the blower.
