my eb 4.0l fairmont wont start as if its a dead battery but its not. turn the key to start and 2 relays, starter and a/c clutch clicks aswell as head/tail lights and blinkers coming on as if a current draw. smart lock will only work every now and again to lock doors etc relay clicks in engine bay aswell. Has anyone got any ideas? ps already tried disconnected battery.

move the gear selector from p to n.
if that fails, tap the bottom of the dash, just above your left knee.
if it works, chances are it's a dry solder joint in the bem.

where abouts is the earth lead from trans to body?

coz i think that lead is causing my car all sorts of drama's with my dash...

i'm not sure where my bad earth is.. but my dash problem has randomly fixed itself twice recently... and stopped working just as randomly...

there is one lead that goes straight from the battery to the engine block.
clean the connection, and clean the one that goes to the chassis too.

trans to body is on passanger side of trans from where the trans bolts to engine, to the chassis rail. best seen from underneath tho... failing that you could add your own just to make sure
