yep, i heard 10k aswell, if you really dont want it , but dont want to look sus you could hollow it out, then stick some pipe through it, that way cops probably wont pick you up for it on the street.

when i done work experience at and exhaust joint, when people came in with Pre 1985 cars (bluebirds etc) for sports exhausts we got rid of the cat, less 'friction' (if thats the word im looking for) through the exhaust. or for some reason do newer cars work better with them? also there is always the more expencive option of a hi flow cat.

the fine has gone up from 10k, its now 25k and if a ehxaust shp gets caught welding a pipe in place of it or something to that effect, 1mil.
Probably be a better idea to knock the guts out of yours less likely to get caught, but at the end of the day if you get roadworthy'd you f**k anyway cause the have measurement tools to test for that, but easier to s**t them over that than having none at all |

im my experince, i've found that cars run a lot richer without a cat, prob due the o2 sensor not getting enought back presure to give a correct reading .

Hey I have an idea, why don't you just get rid of your muffler?? No fine there and it sounds pretty good. I have done that to one of my cars and people have thought that I ran 2 1/2 inch pipes.....
Just a thought, u might not like that idea though.

Hollowed out cats can have worse flow coz when u smash all the s**t out it leaves little bits which disrupt the aitr flow, caouses swirling n s**t
Welding a pipe through it helps with that. But a high flow is bteer imo. Hate ppl who list hollowed cats as a performance mod. tools Cats are there for a reason. Having studied units in pollution, the difference they make is quiet big If your runnin a E-series 6, the best place for rh ct to be positioned, performance wise, is about 1m back from where it is standard. Roughly under the drivers seat. Dunno why its there, somehing to do with the gasses not coming round a corner straight into a cat and temp or soemthin

I have heard a few racing car drivers state that 'the cat's dont do anything' and if we have better eco fuel, then why the f@#k do we need cats??? money money money.
also when im driving and the passenger window is down, i hear a spinning rattle noise, is it the cat converter on the way out???
