In vic it says 'no engine mods' so i just take it that exhaust is NOT the engine, hence alright to upgrade.

Besides, the car I will put an exhaust on will have lost power since it was made, so even with the exhaust it will probably still be less powerful than when it rolled out of the factory.. Hardly anything illigal about that i reckon.

Doesnt matter what either of you rekon... especially largey.. its called a hood or bonnet.. not a 'head'....

Exhaust mods are engine power increasing mods hence illegal.

Doesnt matter if your cars lost power over time, they dont give a f**k, you do anything to increase the power they can ping you.

Just a word of advice, try get something with a resi, I have extractors, hi flow cat 2.5" single muffler, and each to their own but it annoys the s**t out of me, I'm gonna go back to get a resi fitted when I can but in the meantime.

A friend of mine got pulled over (he's on P1's) by cops. Well, actaully he was in a parking lot and the cops baracaded the entry and spent 3 hours going through all P plater's cars for drugs, illigal things etc. (Big crackdown over sumer in vic, and it was down the beach so.. yeah whatever)

Anyway he was in his bro's car, (some rice s**t heap) has a f-ing loud and massive exhaust. The cop made him rev the car to 3,500 revs and said, "hmmm its pretty loud", and made him have to go and get it checked at the environmental thingo place to make sure it didnt breach standards. Anyway, the car got defected for not having the right fittings for a baby seat, should one needed to be put there, which it wouldnt.

Goes to show, cops probs got no idea so go for it... just dont bring attention 2 urself or be in wrong place at wrong time.

My friend technically wasnt allowed to be driving that car and wasn't displaying P plates.

that's a joke right?

Find a catback exhaust that gives 12% increase and you will be rich

that's like 15kw on most falcons.

12% increase is pretty generous, 12% on 190kw would make over 210kw which would munch most pre-modern v8's.

doubt it would make that much difference though, crow cams claims 20kw with full exhaust AND cam.

What I want to know, is if you have Mods which are deemed Illigal or whatever by vic roads and the cops, but you are still insured for them by your insurance company... Will they cover you?? Do they care??

Raises interesting question.. Because I'm pretty sure If you notifid them of the modifaction, they would just increase your premium and you would have to pay it....

I want to know.. :)
