Hi Guys

I am thinking of getting a catback exhaust system for my BA falcon. As I am on my P's I was wondering if getting teh exhaust system does increase the power and how much by.

Cheers

it will give an extra 4,000 watts of power maybe. depending on which resinators you go for

i think there was a new law coming in soon about bolt on aftermarket parts?

anyway, not enough to make a huge difference as long as you dont drive like a d**k

btw, welcome to the site

The new big a** tip and the sound it would make would be a dead giveaway.

I had a typhoon system on my car with X-force extractors and a hi flow cat. Gained a bit of power.

I now have a 2.5" redback system and the same extractors and cat and i actually lost power (different dyno's)

Personally i'd go for redback which should set you back under $500 fitted. But there is alot of exhaust out there, and you might want to try and listen to a few before fitting one on your own car.

Cheers

the exaust will be louder than stock but as long as the resonators are in place the cops should leave you alone.
its when you remove them that you get that loud 'bark' sound on changing down gears that the cops just love!
the power increase from just cat back is minimal and should keep you under the power to weight limit just check on bolt on modification laws to see if you can even put it on in the first place.

Exhaust will give you s**t all gain in power with the stock manifold, unless you are already experiencing some major loss of power due to blocked cats/mufflers/resonators.

Assuming you are getting an off the shelf system, it will be quite obvious it has been modified, although unless your being an a** behind the wheel I see it unlikely you will get anything for it unless its obnoxiously loud (and remember obnoxiously loud is different to older people  )

a eshaust will only give like a 12% increase in power f**k all really just don't drive like an idiot P Plater, and you will be find,

the missus owned a manga v6 with a loud a** exhaust (had two hotdog looking mufflers and a single muffler box) and she never had no drama being on her p plates, she jus drove normally.

Thank you one and all for your input. I will do some research on the different exhaust before I go and get one.

Kit and mags will attract more attention then a neat car with a nice note.
