I'm changing my CFI EA with 3 stage auto to MPI and have all the stuff wiring loom computer etc, my question is since the 1st series of the EA's had the old 3 stage and the 2nd series had the 4 stage auto will this stuff up my gear changes when the computer for the MPI is installed? I really dont want to change the trans as this would mean that i would ideally have to change the diff because they made it a different ratio to suit the trans, and i want to do the conversion in 1 day.

You have a couple of options.. get a manual ECU (equivalent), or put some resistors on the temp, and gear selector line of the ECU, and bridge the neutral switch. Both will be the same result really.

Are you sure no 3 speeds were MPFI? What about the XFs? That should work?

Cheers

I just remembered something. EAs had seperate TCM (Transmission controller module), on the 4 speeds... so you have nothing to worry about.

Sorry, I forgot.

Cheers
