this rule has changed about a dozen times in the last ten years. It is my understanding that the spare tire does need to be legal as it may need to be used at any time.

i've heard this is the case, and that you can remove the spare and its cool...

and another twist for the policeman to consider.. if no spare.. then is it still ok if you have one of those "cans" of puncture repair?? (temporary fix)

A bit off topic, but here's a classic dumb cop story -
I was pulled over here in Brisbane in my Impala convertible by a couple of noddies, there problem was I had no back window. (the top was up, but the back window was able to be un-zipped and removed, which it was because it was hard to see out of). I couldn't beleive there attitude for such a small thing. They said it was dangerous as fumes could be drawn into the cabin. So i folded the roof down. They were stumped then, and had to let me go! Hilarious! :D

SA laws are a pain..... you have to run a factory airbox to be legal but it what it doesnt say is whether or not it has to be from that model as long as its a factory airbox. Thats a nice little grey area isnt it??????

That would make sense. What good is a spare wheel if you cant legally use it!?

I always go by the rule if its on the car it must be working... take the spare out and you should be ok, and no that doesnt mean taking headlights off because one is blown makes the car roadworthy :p

very strange.. so by their way of thinking, nobody is allowed to drive with the window down either..

Painted the intake today and added a support bar to raise the rubber flex elbow off the plenium.

Cheers.....

Also does anyone think it's a good idea to reset the ECU after this intake mod. Would it help at all??Might disconnect the battery overnight?
