I want to be able to use e series cams and have a Hybrid EL fairmont. What do I need to change to be able to use it? Is it just a matter of bolting on a normal EL head and rocker gear or will I need to buy some other stuff aswell?

yeh ive searched through heaps of hybrid topics but just wanting to be clear. I suppose I will need an EL cam aswell until I get my aftermarket one if I change the head and rocker gear.

I can pick up a mild wade cam for $100 anyway so I will just use that if I go down that route I think.

you need to change the rocker rack over to an EF unit. (or a pre-hybrid EL rack), that way you can run normal E series cams.

My head has 96DA on the front which im sure is an EL code. Does that mean my motor isnt a hybrid?

Not sure. Any differences between EL and EF heads and rocker gear?

I am pretty sure that the EF and EL rocker gear was the same. The hybrid rocker gear had different ratios.
