IIRC easiest way to do a 4.0 cap and leads is from underneath

how not to f**k up the firing order? replace the leads one at a time and mark the boots with dots of white-out

...I've tried it from underneat... nah, from top, get your hand underneath there, take out the intake tubing and the like, and just reach for those clips. Its a pain in the a**, but you'll get there. Also, doing leads one at a time isn't going to help if you are replacing the cap and rotor. So just pull it off, have a look at the firing order 153624 I think, and then in that order clockwise put your leads on once the cap is back on.

The rotor does just pull off, but its stubborn, so keep pulling, and the new one will pop back in just fine, just make sure its on the right way... people say it only goes on one way... but Ive had it 180 degrees before...whoops.

Good luck.

Easiest way to get to it is to remove the air box.

Cap has lead number on it at each terminal. If your not using numbered leads, write the cyl number on the lead at each end then you can't go wrong.

The easiest way is this;

1) mark all leads on spark plugs 1-6(if no markings)
2) remove leads from spark plugs.
3) remove airbox and snorkel
4) unclip 2 clips on dizzy cap and reach through and pull the lead off the coil.
5) now manourve the dizzy cap out underneath the plenium and pull all the leads out with it.
6) Now check all the lead numbers correspond with the numbers on the dizzy cap. firing order 1-5-3-6-2-4.
7) Replace rotor buton and put all the new leads on the dizzy cap
8) Now tape all the ends up of the leads and feed a draw wire through the gap at top of 5&6 intake plenium and have it coming out where the dizzy is.
9) Tape the leads onto draw wire, manourve dizzy cap back in under at the same time drawing the spark plug leads up through the plenium.
8) Connect up leads to spark plugs, clip down dizzy cap and plug in the last short coil lead.
9) All done.
