ok i have a ED and for some reason i have no spark. so im guessing its my coil or dizzy. now thanks to fords great engine design, f**k if i can see an easy way or getting to them (or at least the dizzy). and tips on changing them? anything to make the job just that little bit easy.
and one quick question. when changing the dizzy. i need to turn the rotor to the "start" position, this correct? and does the engine need to be at TDC?

Thanks.

i would try changing the coil first ( from underneath) but it is possibly the tfi module on the side of the dizzy too

if u get the car on tdc the dizzy cap will come off easily as the rotor button is in the best position for it. then take the rotor out the spacer out and the dizzy will come out.
take the airbox out of the engine bay too, makes life a bit easier

any idea at what to look at first if i told you it was sparking every once in a while? like cyl 1 was sparking once every 2-5 seconds. more a dizzy problem? (at idle)

leads maybe, distributor cap and rotor may have corrosion on the terminals, rusty distributor shaft where the rotor slides on......spark plugs?

what parts have been replaced?
how many km's has the car done?

coil was f**k, and dizzy was not much better. i have now changed both and im getting spark, but still cant start the f**k. one question about changing the dizzy it self. after i have the new dizzy sitting flush with the block and bolted down, the engine should be int he compression stroke at TBC and both the marks should be lining up on the dizzy. correct? or am i doing something wrong?
