hi guys, i need to change over my starter motor in my EL 6 cyl. I have the starter motor itself, is there anything else i'll need, and what would be the easiest way to do it?

thanks

Find someone with small girly hands. The top bolt is a bastard to get to. Or remove the intake manifold/plenum.

Yes agreed with data_mine, the top bolt is nearly impossible to get at. I spent about 45 minutes trying to get the top one off my mates EF so we could drop the box out and i still couldn't get it!

I managed to find a friend with girly hands. Got at it from above, with a small ring spanner.

Put a socket on the end of a few extension bars, feed it under the intake manifold and undo it from the front of the engine.

This is the easiest way. Takes 5 minutes, done it many times now.
Don't try it with spanners unless you like swearing.

A ratchet spanner works well from underneath you just need to get lucky and find the head, then bingo its easy.
