Hi guys.
Just was wondering the what exact process is for changing the BEM?

I just bought another one from the wreckers, as my current one was a quick replacement for my old one, which was out of a wagon, so my boot button doesn't work :/.
My car is an EL XR6, and i got another blue one.
Do the numbers have to match up or anything also?

Thanks

Goes straight in, EF to EF and EL to EL only on this item.

Wagon one will still work with the boot button, it just needs to be programmed.

You'll also need to train the BEM to the smartlock barrel, this takes 1hour. otherwise your car will be immobilized until you do this.

basically remove the old one, install the new one, wind your window down (for so you cannot lock yourself out) turn the ignition ON for 1 hour or until the door locks cycle twice or when the smartlock jewel is steady on the dash, proceed to start the car and your done.

Hmmm might as well put the other one in then, we did this with the current one and the boot button didn't work, you just hear a noise from the BEM.
I'll give this a go

thanks guys

Turn off everything, ie interior lights, radio etc. close the door withe the window down. Turn the ignition to reds (on) do not try and start the engine. and wait. The door locks will cycle, turn the ignition off and then start the car.

Does the car need to be locked when doing this? The smart lock light has been flashing for around an hour now and is still going...

Take up to 60mins to do. Some cars are quicker than others.
