my nefew brought a 20kw+ chip of ebay for $20 i turned up today and all it is a resistor 9c worth and a peice of paper with instructions on how to unplug the air temp sensor and stick the resistor in plug, and to finish the mod zip tie a bit of shopping bag over it, i was there when he undo the standard size envolope to find the one pissy resistor, lmao he got so ripped, even funner his brother also had one posted in the same envolope but thay only charged him $1.50 for his magic resistor, all i see is a out of tune fuel eating plug fowling s**t :D maybe thay could have added a switch and a hobby box and made it look like it's worth five bucks

the apprentice at work has fitted one of these to his el falcon, there is not really a noticable power gain from it, but it accelerates much smoother, a bit harder ( probably just feels quicker from the smoother acceleration ), and has gotten about 80km more from a tank full around town driving then he did before fitting the resistor. thats running on nuthing but ifs' ethonol blended evolve 95.

It would be interesting to see dyno runs, with and without.. to see if it makes a difference.

your answer is .09c difference!! I can't believe people actually spend money on this crap..

but then I have seen the ads on Ebay as well and they do promise the earth..

there have been previous jokes (I will not take the credit for the recital)

there is potential or joing 5 or these together to gain a possible 100kw gain.

seriously think ford wouldn't have added a resistor in there if they could get better fuel economy and power?

This is similar to those PC cooling fans they were selling as "electric turbochargers" and claiming 10-20% increase in power and economy.
funniest thing is people actually buy this stuff.

well ford couldnt very well have all there new cars cherping into gear but removing the air temp sender being a varable resistor and making it have fixed resistance is stupid the whole idea of the air temp sensor is for the ecu to figure out the exact amount of fuel needed and i guess this also would have some bearing on other sensor being out of range
