hey data mine the ef and el tappet covers are slightly different. the ef doesent have any 4 litre identification on it. they look crap compared to the el ones.... remember the ef's have the big plastic cover going over the intake and the el's have the neater piping. mines standard and ill post up a pic of it including dirty engine bay muhuhahahaha

So all i need to do is grab a rocker cover and the matching gasket???

heres my AU rocker-tit. problem is, you gotta polish it once in a while.

one day I'll spray it with a heat resistance clear coat.

Hey slick, yours looks really good, not over the top with the shiny crap, but a nice touch.

How'd you go about doing that?

actually the AU came with bare aluminum rocker cover, except XRs I think. I just use any metal polish paste from your local speed shop. I use a very fine steel wool after using the die grinder to get rid of all the casting marks & bumps. then hand polish with brazol metal polish or similar.

G'day

Is there any reson no one puts a clear coat over the polished covers?

That way you wouldn't have to keep polishing it.

Cheers

If you check my first post, I mentioned a clear coat. I still gotta organise a day to do it. for best result is to bake it in the oven after you air dry it.

Spray can Paint: VHT flameproof coating {SP-115 CLEAR}.
