If a code had been logged, simply replacing the sensor won't clear the code. You either need to disconect the battery long enough OR clear the code with a scan tool.
Not all O2 code will mean it's a sensor problem. an sensor out of range code only means the sensor has found a very rich or very lean condition. I've seen leaking fuel pressure regs cause O2 sensor out of range codes. |

I don't have a scan tool so if I put a new oxygen sensor on my EL, How would I know if it was working properly without any error codes? Or would I need to disconnect the battery for an hour or two to reset it? Out of interest, My car isn't on LPG so unsure if that makes any difference.

Non-injected LPG systems usually use a relay to cut the O2 sensor wire during LPG operation so that petrol fuel trims aren't learnt while running LPG. This can trigger false codes.

so to test a sensor via multimeter what should it be reading out ?
found a nice looking denso sensor at pick a part it read 6ohm while cold but what should it read when warm ? |

Out of interest, My car isn't on LPG so unsure if that makes any difference. i trained my auto service guy to scan my cars before they service the auto and change diff oil,funny what is logged,it said my high speed thermo fan wasnt working-spot on,we checked it and was stuck,locked.found small magnet bits jammed in the rotor

i just wanted to know if there is a way to test what wires n what setting the multi meter to be on
so people in the future can read from this + i will cheek mine every engine oil service which is every 5K km |
