Well I would go for the 977B from Wade over the 1673, especially since you have short gears + manual, cant comment on the CMS cam though.

none of them have a 'tough' idle

both cams are great........ ive ran the 977b and found it to be the best Wade cam for a daily driver

okay then what other mods did you get to support the 977b did you need stiffer springs etc.

chip & tune, crow XR6 springs, 3.7 gears when manual, 4.11 when it was high stalled auto, machined head with AU gasket bumping up compression

all these amounted to 156rwkw in manual form and went very nicely. The wade 1521a had more power up top, but had noticably less down low compared to the 977b

will be fine mate, just that it will run a bit rich, and the idle will hunt up and down...... probably turn the throttle body screw in half a turn just to stop it from stalling on the way there

its not a mighty big cam, but the hunting idle can get frustrating. I drove 150km to get mine tuned, it was fine

Every car is different though, you have a s**t load of torque which will help you.

Any camshaft awakes these engines.
But for me i have the Wade cam 977B making 151rwkw & 423rwnm. :D
Very happy with this cam. Makes power & torque all over the rev range.
Max power at 5000rpm & flattens out after that.
Great mild cam for every day.

Hi guys do you reckon your final drive is the reason you beat a Wade?? I only ask because i rival V8s with the usual mods with an AU1645 and were do you get CMS cams? i cant find nothing if there really that good i might look at getting one?

there is so much that goes together to get a car to actually perform in terms of speed over a certain distance...
at the end of the day you could match up the cams in a group of 'stage 1' style groupings and they would perform in a similar fashion.
of course there will be differences though

thats it!
choosing a cam is really hard.
you sort of have to ask for reviews on certain cams and then make your own mind up about which one suits you
