conversion AU 2 into a XD, this is what i am doing but i have a few problems i have gotten stuck into the wiring for it now and found a couple of problems

there is 1 wire coming off of the au series amp box 60 amp for bat that leads to the starter motor relay then to the fuse box powers the accesories that im not going to use but there is 1 fuse i might need the BEM 5 amp. what should i do with it

i really dont want to have a BEM but i know it sends all the info to the dash and that i am going to have to rewire it for the XD, or is it possible for me to wire the dash without a BEM. i also have a J3 chip that defeats the the smart shield

if your running the xd dash cluster and are not running a bem with the smartshield bypass then you shouldnt need to fit one...

good point...
i dont think the xd cluster will read anything from the bem anyway..
if you keep some of the xd wiring, the fuel gauge will work as is, the speedo can read from the gearbox as before(xd and au use the same type of speedo sensor), xd oil pressure sender will fit the au block, volts can be connected to the alternator output,(like in xd) and with the water temp you can use a ea-ed lower thermostat housing and fit the xd temp sender...

the only thing im not sure on is the tacho signal..

how much of the au wiring are you using??
