is there any way of determining that the heater core is the problem?

have ya removed the glove box so ya can see behind it. the heater core is in there some were but you may see were the coolant is dripping from and trace it back from there.

sounds like a cracked pipe coming from the heater core. if you look at the fire wall at the hose you replaced, there will be another hose that goes down to a junction i spose is one way of putting it, that is the heater tap.

i just started the car and waited till it reachs normal operating temp. put the heater/cooler gauge to cold before i started the car. coolant was leaking after it reached operating temp.
there is 2 hose coming from the firewall. i replace the one on the right. on the other end if the hose it connects to a metal pipe which goes back up toward the top of the engine ( well it goes between the starter motor and the engine and i cant see it pass that) i think i broke that pipe.

sorry forgot to add that after i installed the hose earlier today i tested the heater and hot air was coming out....

pretty common for those pipes to be a bit rusty and brittle, see if you can loosen the clamp and push the hose on further and reclamp it, temp fix until you can do it properly

but its from behide the firewall. seems like coming from behide the firewall and the bottom of the car. the puddle of coolant is where the passenger legs/feet are. under the glove box.
