is it running rough on start up? Could be head gasket. Get the car on stands and have a look at all the hoses and look for any coolant stains on parts.

Oh man, I've been through this....here are my suggestions.

1. Inspect for leakages.
2. If none found, replace radiator cap.
3. If still losing coolant, its going somewhere, and if it's not externally, it's internally.
4. Check engine oil for contamination.
5. Check coolant " " " " "
6. If yes to either 4 & 5, you have a blown head gasket.
6. Does it run rough on startup and a few minutes later is fine?
7. Does it blow HEAPS of moisture on startup?
8. Maybe 6 could be something else, but if both 6 & 7, you have a blown head gasket.
9. Have I missed anything?

Check your radiator cap.

check beneath the exhaust manifold, usually it leaks between the head/block near 5/6 cyl. then the exhaust manifold evaporates it.

throw in some cheap glycol and you should be able to smell it,

If it's leaking at idle you should be able to see where from right?

Throw a new cap on it. They are probably the most overlooked part of the cooling system.

How about checking the "Telltale" on the water pump????.....or the gasket where the T'stat housing meets the cyl head.......or the heater tap, either through corrosion of the metals tubing, or its coming out the shaft of the valve.....or the heater core has a pin hole in it......or the heater hoses have a pin hole.....or the bypass pipe has a pin hole in it........or the radiator has a hairline crack in the plastic tanks...........

Best bet is to have it pressure tested.

Yeah we pressure tested it yesterday with my uncle who's my mechanic and we couldn't find any leaks but he said if I start to loose power its gunna be my head but at this point we changed the cap as the caps tend to go

You know, I just remembered that I checked the coolant level a few months ago and saw it was nearly empty, yet couldn't find any leaks so worried that I'd done the head....yet once it was filled up again, no more problem.
