why bother you can pick up a complete ba engine for less that $600 easier to do that then you get two cams :)

and easier the ba motor will bolt in with out modifications and the rumour is that you can get it running with a VCT AU ecu

I want to stay sohc so I can keep using the same parts but have the strength of the stronger bottom end and the whole engine only cost me $150.

unless your going turbo and putting a fair amount of boost there is no point in doing it.

The AU air con compressor doesn't bolt straight up (Sits to far back) and you need to lock the cams and modify the teeth on the cam to change the cam sync signal to match the AU signal.

It is going to be high boost so I am trying to strengthen up the bottom end , I only want to use internals not the hole engine.

Then BA internals are not what you want.
The AU crank is plenty strong enough, then go out and buy some decent aftermarket rods and pistons.
