I have no idea to what speed we'd go to, so thats unanswered.
I've also seen a few vs's with mild mods that can move, but in retrospect ive seen a fair share that were piss weak and laughable, so hard to tell!
I will just wait till i see his car on the road a bit then ill say yey or nay.

VN/VPs 6s are pretty light - only 1300kg odd so the v8s a touch heavier. I think the V8s of that period were 165kw with the HSV enhanced ones at 185.
I've got a mate with a VR 5.0 manual wagon and with extractors and a cat back exhaust and he put out 146 rwkw and ran a 15 flat quarter. Given that his car is a heavier wagon his manual probably makes it about even with a lighter auto VP for power to weight. My EF manual with cam and extractors at the time was 136rwkw and a shade quicker (14.8 over the quarter)
If yours is an auto I reckon he might just get you, in a manual you'd win.
If you lose it wont be by much and you can say the old line about him having a lighter more powerful car with 2 extra cylinders :)

Also for sly and others talking about drags to 60km, seriously, that's not gonna prove jack s**t! What's it take you to get to 60 - 4 seconds ? Over that sort of distance on the street reaction time and technique getting off the line would be almost more important that what car you're in.

My Mate has a VN SS with stage 2 shift kit, pacemaker extractors, 3" exhaust, K&N filter and snorkel, and i cant pass it in the XR6
They are basically dead even, he gets the jump off the line, then i claw back but cant pass him.
It pisses me off no end.
