my cylinder head has an id number of 96 da....... is this head a stock el item.Just trying to work out exactly what car it came out of.

Any ideas, does anyone have an el that they could check the number cast on the front of the head for me and see if its the same as mine. :D

Yes it's a stock EL item, tickford would be 96DT or similar.

It's a late EL, 96DA is hybrid, should have conical valve springs as an easy double check.

96DA is hybrid.

I had a hybrid in my EB. lovely engine :D

Thanks for the replies, i was under the assumption that it was a hybrid but i checked the back of the head and there was no sensor there like my au head has.
Do the el hybrid come with the au head but without the sensor hole cast into the back of it?
Also does the hybrid motor share any other au parts?

no worries, by the way love your sig lol, the hybrid head has everything AU but not that senor at the back of it, im sure they have the AU crank as well.

stock EL bottom end, same E-series fibre head gasket (not an AU metal one).

Nice motor, revs nicely, flows well.

They do have the AU crankshaft in them, and they dont have the metal gasket. Mine has VR2A printed on the crankshaft
