The older magnas, something around the late 90's, they had a bit of poke in them for a conservative family sedan. Not to mention tuff as nails, I went a visited my mum and dad, and their magna was running a little off, so I had a look around it an noticed that it didnt have much oil in it, I asked dad when hey last had it serviced and he said, get this, it got its 6 months bill of health and that was it.

Been running on the same oil, water etc for almost 10 years!

Only pad and tyre changes at the local kmart tyre and auto in its time. And I still give it a caneing when Im down there, and those hills in tasmania really give it to the car.

Possibly, but theres a fella who drives about in his blinged up magna, and it sounds pretty good. 3.5L or not, I still reckon they'd give falcons a run for their money...

the BF's get a few nicer engine upgrades, but also the rear lights, the reverse is in the cluster, the cover on the drink holder is gone. price wise, if they come out around the same go the BF. to be honest if i did it again, Id buy and XR8 ute, they use just aout the same fuel.

Mum had a (02/03) TJII Magna VRX in manual form ... it was fun to drive ... only problem was it was FWD ... taking off was difficult (even with the half decent G-grid II rubber) ... would wheelspin well into 3rd gear.

Surprisingly quick vehicle for stock standard.

I don't understand why anyone in their right mind would buy a fagna... As quoted in another post I saw - they're gayer than aids...
Front wheel drive - puss!!
3.5L engine ( thats an isult to the word engine) - puss
room in the car (if you can call it that) - puss
Their VRX "performance" vehicle - puss
The one thing I will say is ok about them is the front end styling of the 99-01 VRX magnas - before they got the alien head lights... They did look tough - but thats about where it finished...
Fagnas have never held their vlaue - and that will continue to be the trend.
PUSS!! And as far as beating a Falcon, it is possible - if the falcon was only running on 2 cylinders and if it was driven by a blind gimp...
As you can tell - I hate fagnas.

well, magnas are pretty quick, i wouldn't be so quick to think that falcons are much faster.

Hahahahaha
Yeah it's real rubbish, that's why the ralliart magna ran a flat 15.
They're good cars, fwd is their downfall.

But, back on topic, the BF is the better car all round, but if you want to spend a couple of dollars on mods get a 3v v8 ute and do an exhaust and stuff, will use about the same fuel as the 6 and be a much nicer drive.
