This is actually for the valiant. When we rebuilt the motor we rebuilt the distributor aswell, so that should be fine. But the coil and ballast resistor are odl, so I wants to replace them. I was thinking Bosch GT40 or do I need a GT40R (with the resistor?)? I looked at the box of them abnd the GT40R says popular application and lists the VJ Valiant, so i assume this is the one? As for the ballast resistor there all the same right? Also going to get some fat leads made up.

If you are using OEM hardware to control the coil still, then you are spot on. Make sure the ballast resistor stays there, otherwise you'll smell strange unpleasant odours.

Cheers
