Hey guys i have a EL futura and was wondering how hard it is to hook up a pod filter in the standard box and how it's done. also what would be more efficient with out worry of cost, a xr6 snorke**supposedly bigger** or the proper 'big mouth' setup, also do they both hook up to the standard box or is there some cuttin involved  cheers guys

Big mouth snorkels like SS induction ones require cutting a bogger hole where the stock snorkel enters the airbox. Reason being that the SS inductions snorkel has a bogger inlet into the airbox. In my opinion, just get a BA XR6T snorkel or EF/EL XR6/8 snorkel and fit that. XR6T snorkel may require slight modification to fit, but the EF/EL XR6/8 snorkel will mount into the standard position.

Pod in the box is quite simple. Just get a 3" pod filter, an EF airbox lid, cut the intake tract tubing inside the airbox back a bit then mount pod filter to that. There is a tech doco on it so look at that for more info. Easier alternative is to just use a K&N panel as it fits in the airbox without modification and would give simliar benefits to a hogh flow pod in the box

step one. look at the top right of your screen, under the banner add you will the word 'Search' click on it.

step two. enter the words 'pod filter' in the top text box.

step three. highlight the 6cyl forum in the 'forum' drop box.

step four. click the search button at the bottom of the screen.

befor you made this thread, the results would have shown
these as the first two threads.
http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... d%20filter

http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... d%20filter

though now we have an extra thread in the results, THIS ONE which will in the future make it just that bit harder for the next person to search an find a useful thread.
