Well, I finally think I figured out why my Ghia has been running "off" for the last few months....

According to the NRMA (who used a magic black box to bypass it, and voila, it started and ran fine) The Ignition Coil shat itself.
Last night on the way home... the poor thing had to be carted off on a tilt-tray

But anyway, my question would be, how much would one expect to pay for a new ignition coil for an EL?

ALSO
Should the dizzy be replaced at the same time? (This was replaced about 18 months ago, but I've been told they ought to both be done together, in the past..)

cheers

If you replace your dizzy it is a good idea to change the coil. If you are changing your coil, you dont need to change the dizzy with it.

The Dizzy was replaced about 18 months ago... And I thought the coil was as well... appears now that it wasn't!

Actually, the mechanic washing the engine bay made it break... he got it wet.... and it never worked again (the dizzy that is.)
