Yes you will need a new loom, as a CFi has only 2 injectors and MPFI with six thus six connectors in loom for injectors. Also various sensors are in differant places, so current loom wont work/reach etc.

The MPFI 6 cyl engines may have 6 injectors but they're fired in two banks of three meaning you still only have two injector lines coming out of the ECU (Sequential injection wasn't used on sixes prior to the AU afaik). You shouldn't need to replace *all* the wiring between the ECU and the engine, only the parts around the manifold. Even though you're not converting a CFI to MPFI this tutorial may still be able to help you out:

If the injectors are fired in banks as you say, then how does it avoid the other 2 injectors squirting fuel in at the wrong time?

ecu controls when the injectors are fired mpfi ecu will fire 3 at a time where a cfi ecu will only fire 1
