I've had 3 cars that are manual with cruise control and never had a problem.
If you change gear the cruise control disengages because there is a switch on the clutch pedal.

I own one manual car with cruise & it works well, As Timmeh said if ya hit the clutch it disengages, it won't shift down/up gears like an auto with cruise does..

Yeah manual + cruise control is good.
Steep hills in 5th you can really feel the pedal pull down to the floor though lol...

Hahaha yeah, lol.
That said the EF/EL XR6 has enough power and torque to handle most hills no worries! The cruise was great on my EL XR, still auto braked fine and everything.

Out of all the mods i done to my SVO, that was by far the best, i used it everytime i was in the car.
As the guys said, if you want to gear down it has a switch on the clutch pedal.

I hate the cruise on my Auto Futura, its always kicking down and pisses me off.

I much prefer it on my Manual XR6, I dont think theres been a hill on a highway thats required me to drop down a gear.
Maybe the big a** one outside Wollongong?

Does the light on the dash come up when you switch it on?

Does it have the switch on the clutch pedal?
