Just chasing what a polished rocker cover off an EL/EF falcon would be worth as i have got a few in the shed now (7) and was thinking about polishing them and selling them off?

what would they be worth compared to what people would pay for them and im talking a proper polishing job not a half assed one

I'll buy one of your rocker covers off you non polished, so i can polish it without having the stress of having no rocker cover on my EL.

The easiest way would be to find out the cost of a rocker cover from the wreckers, work out how long it takes to polish, then figure out how much $$ you want for your time. Add the two together and you have your price.

just take it off every now and then (anywhere between 1 and 6 months depending on if your driving in dusty areas or just hiway/ city driving ) and just polish back up to a shive with AUTOSOL

I was thinking in the area of $200-$250 including postage (maybe cheaper if i was to do as on an exchange basis?)

Postage would have to be in the area of $20-$40 depending on where you were?

Agreed.

Mine was second hand, but I have seen a couple go around that price. There is a ton of labour involved in polishing anything, and most people are not prepared to pay the sort of dollars the seller would expect, and rightly deserve.

I hope he gives it a go on at least one of them, and I hope he gets the money he would like, but I doubt it. He may on the first one or two, but the E Series crowd watch their pennies pretty closely.

Cheers
BenJ

it all depends i guess, on the tools & skills, on the final price

some professionals only need a couple hours to polish a BBM to a chrome finish, whereas it took me 14 hours from start to finish ...... that went to a bloke with a blue EL XR turbo for $140-ish

big waste of time
