Guys not sure what you call it but Im after the insulation blanket that attaches to the firewall in the engine bay.
The ED ones used to be ruberised but the one in my EF has a cloth facing over fibre and its seen better days.

Anyone know where I can get a new one or near new one in Melbourne. Ive had a look in the wreckers but all have been damaged. see ya

On the firewall? to replace it wouldn't you have to like remove alot of misc items to take it off and put a new one on with out making it look crap.

I have stripped the engine bay and repainted it the same metallic colour as the body. Trying to make it better than new and its come up pretty good so far.

Have you tried Ford, as they weren't all that expensive, if they are still available.

I doubt you'd ever find a decent on at a wreckers.

Also, have a look for a thread by EA2BA, here or on AFF. When he replaced his engine he used something similar that he was able to mold to the firewall shape, and it was thicker with some sound deadening built into it.
