hi, i was just wondering how hard it was to change an engine out of an ea 3.9 multi point to a el 4.0. i wanted to change the compuetr system to, but ive been told thats that is to much effort. just to use the orginal intake and exhaust manifold, and just use the original computer.but i wanted to now would this give me much more performance. i also wanted to keep using the 3 speed and just put i stall converter on it.

yeah too much effort to change the computer and everything else, I think you'd have to convert to smartlock too, which would be a royal pain in the a***.

The only real benefit of having the EL stuff is the broadband manifold that will give a bit more torque low down.
If you really wanted this, you can just set it up to work on an rpm switch, as all it does is change the intake manifold length at a certain rpm, I think some of the guys who have converted to BBM have done it this way.

it also depends on how much you wnt to spend to.

once you start something like that you don't where it's going to end.
