Hey guys, I managed to score a old 3.9 head which has been welded before, and i was thinking about just keeping it and fixing it up a bit.. I was wondering if anyone knows if there was any diffrence with valves compared to the 4.0 and if ya rekcon its worth fixing it up.. maybe a shave and stuff?

If it's been welded before you would have to check it VERY carefully before doing any more work to it

i think the ports are slightly different size but not sure and if its been welded could have another crack somewhere else probebly been overheated and stressed the head in other places

If it has a number 6 on the front it is one of the type of heads that ea saloon cars use from the ea to ef range. if the intake port is opened up it can produce the right swirl in the chamber, ie spreads the air/fuel thru the chamber for good ignition.
