Ok i was cruisin round bendigo last nite goin home hwy patrol bailed me up and gave me a canary but!! He found an oil leak i havent noticed b4.

Its near the cat comin out of the seal between the bellhousing and engine. Question is wtf is that gasket called?? Im sick of tryin to explain it lol

btw i got the defect for blue parkers and plate lights no biggie lol

if its engine oil, its either the sump gasket or the crankshaft rear seal...

Thanks yea itd b the crank rear seal cos i know its not the sump cos the leaks nowhere near that its kinda more up top

yeah either rear main seal or sump gasket gone, got same problem with my ef, plus among other things lol,

if it rear main seal engine and gearbox gotta come out or even gearbox by itself which is ment to be harder or more time consuming etc.

that or it's rocker cover leaking down the back of the head and onto the bellhousing...

EA's had those s**t half moon rubber fill ins for the cam journals were ground and they go hard and always leak front and back of the motor...

Ill give it a wash now and check but im sure its the rear seal f**k could b both i know these engines love to leak lol

Get alot of people thinking rear main when it'd actually rockercover, before you drive it in the morning put you're hand around the back Of the rocker cover and feel for oil.

All dry round the back of the rockercover filthy but dry lol deff rear main seal then its not pissing out oil but maybe a couple of drips a week my old xf ghia had the same prob and it absolutly p****d out like drain all the oil over night.

It hasnt leaked at all today so im thinkin its just sluge melting i dunno iv cleaned it up nice so if it leaks itll build up and ill see it

Rear main leaking slightly seems to be an issue with every car.
