I have a friends EA CPI Dual fuel falcon here and i was faced with a problem that, i reakon i know what it is but ill ask and confirm anyway, What its doing is:
Idling high on occasions
when you take off it feels to be "flooding" and goes nowhere .. ( only when idle is high)
does it for about 4 days then stops doing it for about 2 to 4 weeks then dos it for 4 days again ..
I was thinking the choke, as it Only does it on petrol not gas, any ideas ??

CFI's dont run a choke as such, I'd be checking for vacuumn leaks (particularlly as you say it's idling high) If it's only playing up on petrol, you can be fairly sure it's not a spark related problem, so I'd be checking the TPS sensor, and maybe seeing if the injectors are blocked, could possibly be an EGR problem (did CFI EA's have an EGR?) could also be a blocked IAC (again, cant remember if CFI EA's had that) so that's some of the things I'd be checking anyway, pull the fault codes from the computer if all else fails.

There is one oin the boot and was suppose to be done 3 years ago .. lol .. but i will check that in the morning .. now, just need to confirm the tuning and diagnosis to get the codes. this has the plug under the bonnet .. ??

If you like, tommorow I can scan in the diagnostic section from my XF gregorys manual, it's relevant to EA, so it should help you do the self test.
