Where is the earth strap from engine block to body on an el falcon, cannot find it. I have looked in the same spot near the gearbox(under passenger seat) that the EA had one but it's not there....

I have not seen any other E series other than the EA & EB1's have the strap from the body to the gearbox.

Cheers

It's on the drivers side of the block under the exhaust manifold behind the water pump or alternator, can't remember.

That's the (engine--->battery) earth strap??...

There must only be 2? That little wire from battery to coolant reservoir tank bracket and battery too engine block...

Has anyone added a good size gauge earth wire from engine block too body in EF/EL, because that little factory wire from the battery to the bracket is dodgy.........

In my Eb Ghia, i rewired with some really heavy duty cables, i think they are 0 gauge. They are absolutely huge! Starter spins so fast it almost sounds like it's going to break away from the gearbox & launch into orbit. :shock:

Cheers

What i used is a bit too big, but it was all the auto elec had at the time. It's like the size used on trucks. lol.

I redid the earths on my EF - I was having voltage drop problems and that sorted them. I used the existing earth points, cleaned up, with decent cables.

You are probably correct...I haven't had a look at it in ages and where it goes...my bad.

How long have you had your car and thats the first time you've noticed there is only that one pissy earth strap to the body.

Yes, there is only 1.

I had the car for about 5yrs, already new about the pissy little body earth wire years ago. My first post question was about trying to find another one hidden away somewhere. Ford engineers obviously thought it wasn't necessary.
