FTG sell the xr motor really cheap, you would have to pull your motor and ecu out and change it over. everything will sit in your car fine!

may work out cheaper to do a multi point conversion, and then and then put a cam and stuff in yours, may go a bit harder as well. (XRs only had about 16kw more than a standard, wasily get that back with cam and exhaust)

sorry... not trying to steal the post here but how much it cost roughly? i have an EA as well and was going to do a whole engine refurbishment but i heard it was more expensive to do that then buy an EB or an ED. i believe it is true but wondering if its worth getting engine transplant

thanks
phong

try this, its a price list of Marks engines at its perfromance, if your after a recon engine this is a good place to start.

it'd probably be cheaper for you to go to the auctions and buy a wrecked EB/ED and transfer the whole engine and wiring loom over to your car. Then you can sell the rest of the car as parts and make your money back.

If you can't do that, then I'd just try and find a lowish kay ED motor (not XR - wreckers charge too much for what they are) and drop that in. Then get a Wade cam (about 160) and you will have better performance than an XR motor anyway. BTW ED's have smartlock so it's probably easier to use an EA-EB 1 MPI loom and ECU and just run the ED motor. You will also need a new fuel pump as the CFI and MPI ones are different.
