check the centre pin is still in the dizzy cap, sometimes if your not carefull when putting dizzy cap on the cantre pin on the cap can get caught in the housing or rotor and come out...

if you have spark at the coil then your tfi is working, as its the tfi that ignites the coil..

hows the lead from the coil to the dizzie?

is it broken internally? when you tried turning it ova did you get any spark from any of the leads from the dizzie [to spark plugs]?

have you got the timing re the dizzie right?

As above...

Logical progression... If your test plug shows spark at when plugged in the coil lead... But not in a spark plug lead... Then either spark plug lead or circuit through the dizzy is broken...

Either a lead isn't pushed on the cap properly... Centre pin is burnt out or missing... Rotor button is burnt out... Or when the coil fires the rotor button is pointing out into space and not sending the spark down a lead... The worst case scenario that you have said isn't it is the aux shaft snapped and the rotor button isn't going around at all...

Has to be something like that... Can't be anything else... Checked the spark plug lead impedances? They're all OK?

Cheers,
Tim

In the past 18 months or so my Ef has done the coil, ecu, bcm, 2X new fuel pumps, brakes ( rotors+caliper on the front), suspension, head, cat, exhaust..... the list goes on and she has only done 190,000 and Im the second owner.
If you fix it and do it right the car will last you, you sell it and buy another second hand car you'll be in the same boat before you know it. People dont normally sell a perfectly working car, second hand cars are second hand problems. You dont want the problems, take a loan and buy a new car under warranty, then lose all you money on services.

Dont get rid of the old EB! My XG pisses me off every second day and just about every week I've been going to sell it but keep changing my mind lol. Fix her up and the old girl should last you many more years yet. And besides, what fun would a car be if it didn't have a problem every now and then lol.

And, by the time you pay it off, it will be worth less than half of what you paid for it, and then there's the interest on top of that.

Thats the one cjh. The lure of a flashy new car soon turns out to be a bitter taste when you find out you could have bought a low k ex company car for the cost of what the interest charge was on your now worthless car. Been there, done that. Ill stick to my piece of s**t Ef Fairmont, it may not be a flashy new Fg, but its mine and owes me less than a Fg body kit costs

also check the tfi is plugged in properly, sometimes the three female spade connectors inside the dizzy don't connect properly.
