180rwkw... you will need more than just head extractors and exhaust... alot more. do some mild engine work, and throw a mini spool in with 4.11's that will give you the punch you need on the track, besides what is the top speed you need? what tracks are going on?

i think you will struggle to get that sorta power, i had bout the 125kw mark on mine stock, then got 2.5 inch mandrel bent, hi flow cat and pacies, then got cam vernier gear and valve springs done with a custom intake, and im still only up to bout the 145ish mark, youll need some pretty serious head work to pump it up some more, talk to fordfreak_ef i seen his on the dyno once and he was pushing 175 from memory, so check to see what mods he done to his head.

try going to this web site http://tascco.com.au/ this is the saloon car web site which are VP-VT/EA-AU cars are used and post a message in ther asking for what type of mods have been done to them cos my mate races in this series in an au and has got around 184-186rwkw out of it. no turbo or super charger just a thought.

Hmmmmm... 12.5 to 1 compression.. av gas.. lumpy as hell cam that sends a heap of mixture unburnt out the exhaust each revolution..

you could get 200 at the back wheels with that sort of kit.. wouldn't want to drive it on the street in traffic though.

At the end of the day I choose to put on a supercharger, because it was less intensive and cheaper than the work required to get the power I wanted without a supercharger or turbo.

By doing all the work myself, I have gotten all the bits I needed for less than 2 grand.

when I turn it up on 9psi, I'd be very surprised of I wasn't around to 200rwkw with other normal mods I have. Will stop trying when I get somewhere between 225 and 250.,.. :-)

do you have any restrictions on what feul you can use in the races you intend on running?

if not, get a good street cam and and bump the compression up to about 12.5 to 13:1 and use some good race feul. the street cam will give you more punch out corners, will also keep the engine in a safer rpm range and put less stress on the valve train.

get some 3.7 or 3.9 diff gears and you be plenty fast enough

+1 for the diff gear swap, best bang for your buck mod.

for 180 kw at the treads your doing a whole motor rebuild with bigger bores and pistons, strengthened and balanced bottom end with rpm to 6200, headwork, compression increase, comp series exhaust, 3500-6000 rpm cam, valvetrain mods, fuel system mods, ecu mods, cooling system mods, throw away the power steering pump and put in a faster rack, loose the water pump and chuck in a davies craig electric.

done right that will get the power, my old man swears black and blue (and he isnt a s**t) that a guy he worked with some years back had a 190 at the wheels el xr6. this basically had the lot done, a complete engine build. for the money forced woulda got more for less.

The diff gears going to 3.7's or 3.89's will make it feel 20kw stronger.

motors for the saloon cars make around the 200rwkw area, will set you back around 10k but and that's without any electrics to run it
