hey all!
my car died on me on the way to work this morning. after hours of messing around i replaced the distributor and reset the timing (i had to do it by ear= no timing light but i did put it into diagnostics mode) the car runs fine, and good pickup................but! on start-up it seems to have a bit of trouble i give it a rev and its fine after that. would there be something to this or is it because i haven't set the timing properly?

cheers,
chris

Did you reset your ecu after replacing the dizzy and tuning?

Was it a new distributor?
If second hand could be dodgy.
Also it could be the timing is out

Yes it is second hand but I thought if it would be buggered it wouldn't be right at all.

I'm only going to use this dizzy until I get a new one, this is a perfect time to ask! Are the cheap dizzy/coil kits from eBay crap or should I buy a mid range one?

Again cheers
