I have changed the fuel pump, new dizzy, new fuel filter, changed the map sensor vacum hose cause it had a split in it but still no go! Lots off black smoke coming out the back! Mate seems 2 think map sensor is gone and its running rich, fludding it wen u rev her up!

I had a similar issue on me EB and it proved to be the map sensor. We were doing an engine change and the engine bumped against it going in.

The car started etc, but wouldn't rev over 3k or so and after a bit of stuffing around swapped out the map sensor for a known good one.

Problem fixed.

It is a simple thing to swap in so I say give it a try.

cheers ben really appreciate that! i change the map sensor and the 02 sensor but no go!! wen it gets 2 2.5 rpm the motor starts shaking like its going 2 jump out the engine bay :( any other idears would be appreciated!!!!!!!

Is it timed right?

Have you done anything to it that has possibly caused this to happen? Helps us give you some ideas on what could have gone wrong...

cheers tim! it just got worse and worse 2 the point i can get over 20/30 km over bout 4 weeks! theres a bit of oil coming out the front of the head but been told that wouldnt cause the problem... :( do u recon the injectors could be nacked????

Have a look at the exhaust, it won't rev if it can't get the gas out

Could be collapsed Cat. Pull the O2 sensor and see if it will rev then. If it has extractors, pull the cat off and see how it goes, if stock manifold just pull the O2 sensor.

Sounds like collapsed cat.
Could also possible be the 02 sensor. Double check you're timing.
