you could nilly do a v8 conversion with that money and put a cam and head work

My advice would be to put in an AU engine, not hard to do.

does the au motor really go that much harder i've been told they had a few problems

i did a head gasket not to long ago. If i had to do it again i would get a low k AU motor. u can get sub 100k engine's no acces. for around the 400 mark if u shop around. Heaps of info on this site for the conversion too.

correct me if i am wrong but they shouldn't need a head gasket done as they use the AU steel one from factory.

au falcon engine has the best head gasket of alll the falcons just make shoure itsa au 2 engine because some of a au 1 s have the el motor

au motor is internally balanced, which means less vibration and can take more power.
