hey guys. i fired up my ed the other day and it was making a sort of thermo fan noise but 9 times louder... any ideas. the noise increases with the acceleration of the car... im stumped.

possible pully bearing or alternator bearings??

Your fan's viscous hub could be stuffed. Sometimes they seize up causing the fan to drive at full bore all the time.

well i dnt know if this will help u identify it but the fan belt is screaming a fair bit too

with the car off spin the cooling fan, if it spins freely then its fine if not then its stuffed. you never know might be a good time to switch over to thermos

yeh it still seems to spin freely. might be the bearing or something... it was wierd tho coz it just started doing it randomly

Remove the belts one at a time and see when the noise stops. Idler pulley bearing made quite a noise on my EB before disintergrating.

my eb was making a loud wizzing noise turned out to be the idler pulley.
