Ok guys, I have read the sticky regarding the engine retrofits and so on.
I have recently bought an ED xr6 engine which i am assured will fit straight into my EF. But what i want to know is will all my auxillary parts ie. bbm, extractors, aircon, power steer pump and so on are all interchangeable??? I also know that i will have to put my coil pack onto this engine also. Is there much involved in this??? Lastly is it as simple as just pulling out my old engine, swapping all parts over (as noted before) and chucking it all back in??? If anyone else has done this it would be muchly appreciated if they could give me a run down of what they did!!! Thanks in advance

Personally I'm a little confused as to why you are putting an older engine in, you're not gaining any power?
ef/el engines are fairly cheap etc.

To answer you, yes you can do it.
Just swap all the bolt on stuff over and your laughing.

you will need to change over your harmonic balancers, and the cam chain cover so you have somthing for your crank angle sensor to bolt to.. and the ED block will not have the thread for the knock sensor.. presonaly i'd get an EF XR6 donk then you can drop it straight in.. or another option is, to get an XR6 ECU, Tickrofd Head and a 300kpa fuel pressure regulator, then u'll have your XR6 motor..

So you mean to say i have just bought an engine that i really cannot use to easily??? God damn.
I was assured by the guy that this would all work. I have only given him a deposit for the engine and gearbox, so i guess i might just use that deposit to get the gearbox by itself!!! Im so cut!!!!

yeah, pays to ask the questions before you go ahead with the purchase, but you're lucky you've only put down a deposit .. hopefully he will let you have the gear box only. research is the key!
