is it an xr6 or fairmont ghia?

there should be a sticker on the rh axle tube, white (open wheeler) ratio is on the bottom of sticker eg 3.08. or yellow sticker (lsd) 3.23, 3.45 etc etc
the lsd diffs also have a high performance tag on the filler bolt.

ok just got under the car and had a look couldnt find a sticker (sigh) there was a small white stickery looking thing on the diff housing that was like half removed so couldnt tell wtf it said lol, gonna go jack the back up and see if both wheels spin so i know if its lsd or not dont think it will be though

EDIT: just took a look non lsd diff, so guessing the ratio will be like 3.08?

you know how the ash tray has a cover? and you push it so that it pops out? the lighter is just inside that so when the ash tray is shut the lighter is hidden

I found one, it looks a lot nicer than the standard EL ones where the ash try has a cover and the lighter is out in the open.

I was replacing ashtrays in the series 1 EF's under warranty to the series 2 units.
So, that is no indication. Series 2 EF came out in Feb 96, same time as the deletion of auto tranny dipsticks, and introduction of R1-424 power steering fluid factory fill.

EF Series 2 was October 95'

As for the thread starter, if you had mentioned you had a fairmont ghia, then theres a fair few differences the series II had over the series I ghia

....... like full leather seats, chrome woodgrain interior, tickford head/rocker cover, LSD, 300kpa fuel reg, dual airbags, missile launcher
