I am about to remove the PWR steering pump from my parts can to get it reco'd and put on my DD. Has anyone dont it before and if so are there any tips or traps I shold be aware of? Cheers Boys Jimmy

You can do it yourself with a seal kit from CV Joints Aust in Sydney (Ebay Suzukisuper).
$10 + post. Depends too on the bush wear and vanes wear - if there's no abnormal noises, they're probably okay.

Not really - would recommend borrowing a Ford shop manual (EA-EL), as it covers it pretty well.
You don't need to remove the front pulley, but the rear circlip might be a tad difficult getting in. Also the preload dish is a bit finicky to compress to remove the large circlip - but perservere with all of that.

Circlip is a pain in the a*** but once you get it out, it's quiet simple. The only other thing I would note would be not to lose the vanes...they aren't held on so if you have the power steering pump unit upside down, they might fall out. When you buy the rebuild kit as suggest by snap, it will come with a schematics and how to replace it. If you want, I can scan and post the one I got on here...assuming I will remember to do so.

That's actually a good point about the vanes.
All that stuff runs in oil, so generally they should be okay. There are two types of pump - ford and aftermarket, ford have a cast steel body - aftermarkets are alloy - can't say either is better than each other. I did an aftermarket one - a steering place did say the o rings, etc may not fit properly, but I had no hassles.

Also note which way the vanes go in. Putting them in backwards will shorten the life of the pump.
