Hi guys,

My EF 6 cylinder dual fuel is going like a holden...but only when its on petrol. On LPG it runs like a charm, but when I switch it over it idles all over the place (quick then slow), and stalls at lights, going round corners etc.

Changed the leads and plugs, and now LPG runs better than ever but fuel is still dodgy. I can hear the fuel pump working, and its been doing for a couple of tankfuls of fuel.

Also, on fuel theres a weird smell in the car (and its not last nights stir fry).

Any ideas?

cheers

might be ur injectors. how long has it been since u ran it on petrol? go buy a bottle of injector cleaner, fill the tank up, put the inj. cleaner in there, go for a drive, fill it up again when it gets down to half, then go for a real long drive (around 4 hours). might take all day but it will really clean out ur injectors.

i had exactly the same prob on my el

injectors are blocked and will need to be taken out and cleaned or if you are real lucky you could try to squeeze the incomming fuel line this may increase pressure enuf to clear blockage but it didnt work for me

OK, after searching thru a lot of similar problems, I've discovered that the vacuum hose had come off the MAP sensor. Seems to have fixed it but its running a little rough still, so I might clean the ISC and persist with the injector cleaner.

Thanks all who posted this and similar problems...you've saved me hundreds. Love your work!

cheers
