hey all...jus wonderin coz i know the manuals are the quicker of the ef/el's i6's.....but i was wonderin if u got a gud stage 2 or 3 shift kit for the auto would it be jus as good as the manual's? cheers

na auto never be as good as a manual, but shift kit will help a lil

do u reccon its worth doin the manual conversion or jus trick up the auto?

short answer is no, i have a shiftkitted auto and a manual with a good driver and same mods will beat me. get a hi-stall and the answer would be differant tho...:)

yeah high stall is the go, pain 2 drive around normal with, but at the drags ive seen stalled up autos take the piss out of manuals many of times with ease, but manual a s**t load more fun.

yer i jus figured the auto was a price id be happy to pay to get the fairmont ghia....but i am plannin on the high stall along will full engine work in the very near future....thanks for the posts

hi-stall or not, auto's will be slower than manuals because of gear ratios. Thats not to say an auto cant beat a manual as they are not as easy to drive.

oh, and maybe this should go in the driveline workshop instead of I6
