During normal driving conditions town or highway mostly when engine is warm and not all the time engine seems to miss / surg.
Recently replaced fuel pump (problem arose before this)
Also spontaneous pinging.

Spark plugs, leads, try running on higher octane fuel if your engine is pining..

shouldnt have to put octane booster in an ef tho. id be checking your plugs and leads first.

yea man my car does that too except it doesnt ping. leads and plugs didnt fix my problem. getting a mechanic to have a look tomorrow an fix fuel consumption problems. ill let ya know what he rekons bout mine. might be the same for u.

do a code check. could be crank angle sensor and/or cam angle sensor.

Chuck round 4 table spoons of metho into your fuel tank and a fuel tank of premium or optimax and see how you go.If no good take it to a mechanic.
